BULLET RESISTANT FIBERGLASS
Also known as Opaque Armor or bullet proof Kevlar, Bullet Resistant Fiberglass is a layered, reinforced structural polyester laminate (fiberglass) that offers unique bullet-resisting characteristics. Press molded between steel plates at high pressure and temperature, bullet resistant panels of fiberglass progressively delaminate as a bullet penetrates, distorting and flattening the projectile and dissipating the energy. More energy is consumed as the bullet penetrates the high-strength glass fibers.
Bullet Resistant Fiberglass
Typically used behind wood panels, counters and countertops, and millwork, Opaque Armor, also known as Kevlar, is a subtle bullet resistant barrier that is ideal for financial offices, convenience stores and government applications, with security ranging from UL Level I through UL Level VIII, depending on how it is combined with other materials and substrates.
