‘Bulletproof’ Window Film Claims Are Full of Holes
Here’s When To Specify It And When To Use Ballistic Glass Instead
If you're specifying security upgrades, you've probably heard so-called “bulletproof” window film marketed as a cheaper form of protection. These claims are dangerous when lives are on the line. The International Window Film Association stands firm on its position that no film can stop bullets.
While window film can hold glass together after impact and slow down someone trying to force their way through, only ballistic glass is tested to UL 752 standards for bullet-resistance.
